The profound global impact of COVID-19 on the health and well-being of youth is undeniable. The pandemic has disrupted various aspects of young people’s lives, from their education and mental health to their social interactions. The closure of schools has made remote learning the standard, posing challenges for those without access to necessary technology or a suitable learning environment. In response, SunRay and CSG Kapteens joined forces to bridge the gaps and uphold social interactions and extracurricular activities, proving to be impactful for the mental well-being of many young individuals. This collaboration played a key role in developing the essential resources to address these challenges and promote the well-being of the youth during these trying times. The home backyard space was built and transformed into a basketball court to provide a venue for basketball training practices and social interaction. Furthermore, the collaboration extended to the Feeding Program, which supplies health packs for the kids and delivers food to communities.
FEEDING PROGRAM
In response to the ongoing COVID pandemic, we launched a Feeding Program to deliver health packs for young children and provide warm meals for the communities in need. This initiative was crucial in ensuring that the well-being of the community’s most vulnerable members was not forgotten during the pandemic.
BASKETBALL YOUTH TRAINING
The Basketball Youth Training project was crucial during the COVID pandemic by supporting young athletes. It offered a valuable platform for them to maintain their physical activity and engagement while adhering to safety guidelines. By recognizing and addressing the unique challenges presented during this time, the project placed significant emphasis on physical skill development, fostered a sense of community, and prioritized the mental well-being of the participating youth. SunRay contributed to the project by supporting group training and purchasing 12 basketballs, ensuring each student had their own ball for practice. This initiative has provided the students with more freedom and allowed them to practice more cohesively.
